For Some Pizza?
August 30th, 2008 Posted in Food, New York CityI've been kind of curious about this Artichoke Pizza place that's not too far from where I live. I've passed it a bunch of times and there's always a line down the street... kind of like when Trader Joe's first opened in Union Square and people queued up like they were waiting for the Splash Mountain ride at Disney World (sad, but true).
I've heard it's amazing and the best pizza ever in life and so worth the wait on line to get a slice. Personally, I can't imagine waiting on a line that long for some pizza, but I had someone visiting this past week and we were thinking about checking it out, so I went to look up their reviews on menupages.com - just to see if it looked appealing in writing.
While I realize that sometimes what appears online is different than what's at the actual spot... this place only has a 4-item menu, consisting of Margherita, Sicilian, Artichoke & Spinach, and Crab Meat Pizzas, and all of them at over $20 a pie. This PLUS a line around the corner with at least a 15 minute wait for just one slice.
Someone wrote a review saying that the artichoke slice will "change your life."
My thinking is this: If a slice of pizza can change your life, maybe you need to rethink your life a whole and not worry so much about the pizza.
