Mario Batali = Pizza Genius
February 25th, 2009 Posted in Food
Mario Batali amazes me once again, with a incredible new establishment. Tarry Lodge a 100 year old building, located in Port Chester New York, is the site of Batali's new Pizzeria / Trattoria.
I was fortunate enough to have the Meatballs, Pickled Jalapenos, Tomato, Fontina, and Oregano pizza and also a slice of the the Prosciutto, Tomato, Mozzarella, Arugula .
Of course, Batali adds his own flares with ingredients like
- Guanciale ( which is the cheeks of a pig, and for those who aren't foodies, those are the best part.) , White Asparagus, Black Truffles and Duck Egg
- Speck, Tallegio, Radicchio, and green Green Olives
- Razor Clams, Salsa Verde, and Pecorino
He also has a array of great meat and wild game dishes that I hope to try very soon. Great thing is, I don't need to call in reservation a month in advanced, like BABBO.
