Starbucks Changes GOLD!

Starbucks Coffee Company will attempt to improve their Gold Membership plan starting on Dec. 26th of this year. I don't know how much better this plan will be for the old Gold Card members, being that they are terminating the 10% off discount. In its place Starbucks will introduce a new 3 level plan giving customer more benefits each time the make a purchase. Instead of a $25 dollar membership fee, the My Starbucks Rewards program will now cost members absolutely nothing to start. Older Gold card members will be enrolled into the program automatically and started at the top level. Also, each current Gold Card member will receive a grace period ( Till January 5th, 2010) for their 10% discount.

My suggestion is to take advantage of your discount now. Even with the free syrup offer and free regular coffee refills, you still lose about 2 dollars a week.
(Calculations base on a 7 day scale and with specialty drinks that don't fall into the deal categories.)
